Starkey Elementary School, Seminole, Florida

Starkey Elementary is Home of the Bears and is located at 9300 86th Ave. N Seminole, FL 33777. Just west of Lake Seminole between 97th Street and Starkey Road in Seminole, Florida. Audrey Chaffin is the Principal of the school and Tameka Harris is the Assistant Principal. The school’s hours are from 8:45am to 2:45pm, gates open at 8:15am.

The local YMCA offers before and aftercare programs for families who need that option. Transportation to and from school is provided by buses, but many of the students are car riders so the car circle can get very busy.

Starkey is a MANDATORY UNIFORM school. Uniforms may be purchased at the following local retailers: Wal-Mart, Target, Beall’s, Sears, Burlington Coat Factory, Old Navy,  and JC Penney. The elementary school offers many programs including AVID, Promise Time Extended Learning Program, Kinder “Garden” and S.T.E.M. In addition, the school offers many clubs and extracurricular activities such as Chorus, Battle of the Books, Etiquette Class, LEGO Club, S.T.E.P, Good News Club, Safety Patrol, Star News Crew, Student Council, STEM and Crazy Eights After School Programs. In addition to the school’s qualified teachers and staff, the school does provide Title One Services to students that need extra help.
